The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Johns Hopkins University will host the 2025 Mid-Atlantic Geobiology Symposium on February 28, 2025. The goal of this one-day symposium is to connect and broaden the community of paleontologists, paleobiologists, geobiologists, and geomicrobiologists in the Mid-Atlantic region (i.e., New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, DC, and northern Virginia)to learn about the exciting geobiology research in the area, foster collaborations between local researchers in similar subdisciplines, and support the research and professional development of early career geobiologists.
The annual Mid-Atlantic Geobiology Symposium has brought together researchers in geobiology and its subdisciplines in the Mid-Atlantic region for over 30 years. A website detailing the history of the meeting can be found at https://www.pfefferkorngeology.com/geobiology-symposium/. The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Johns Hopkins University is thrilled to be able to host this year’s meeting with generous support from The Agouron Institute and The Ernst Cloos fund.
The symposium is free to attend and travel grants are available for those from other institutions (see information on the meeting website). The website for this year’s meeting can be found at: https://www.midatlanticgeobiologysymposium.org
