BP Blakley received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and studied geology and planetary science at Pasadena City College. In 2022-2023, they were a research assistant for the Lunar Trailblazer mission at Caltech, completing laboratory spectroscopy studies of ice-regolith mixtures. They studied astrophysical ices relevant to outer Solar System bodies as an REU researcher at Northern Arizona University in 2023. They are primarily a laboratory researcher interested in icy ocean worlds with astrobiological potential, but they're always looking for an excuse to do field work.
